Always code p0301 in the morning

1st Gen Owner
I just purchased my Ford 2002 explorer sport Trac, and previous owner replaced the coil pack,the sparks, new fuel pump and replaced the gaskets on the intake manifold...but I am still get the code p0301 in the morning.After couple miles I clear the code and the truck runs fine the entire day.
Today I got the p0301,p0300 and p0171....after restarting the car all codes disappeared and the car runs fine.

What I am missing?
 
p0171 = Bank1 Too Lean
p0300 = Random Multi Cylinder Misfire
p0301 = Cylinder1 Misfire

Suspect the "new" CoilPack or Plugs or Wires, NEW is not equal to GOOD:
~ did prev owner use OEM parts & correct MotorCraft\AutoLite Plugs+Gaps? NonOEM are known issues.
~ pull+inspect+ohmcheck the CoilPack+Cylinder1 Wire+Plug
Could still have an Intake Vac leak;
~ use CarbCleanerSpray or a SmokeGen to find leaks
~ check PCV Hoses for cracks+leaks..

i reconnected all cables, includet the coil pack. I will order new elbows for the air lines...so far, just in the morning the code 0301 showed up and after 10 miles he disappeared..randomly...
i will check the spark one cylinder one and maybe replace the o2 sensor (up stream)..
I am not sure if the coil pack is motoraft....

Your CoilPack in the pic above appears to be same color as a MotorCraft;
of course the label\number is on the backside where you can't read it!

Ok, good to know, but still always when the engine is cold the code 0301 coming up and later on it's disappear..
 
Yep, would pull that plug & inspect.
 
ok, here the spark plug, i don't think is bad, and the gap is right.......still when the engine is cold i get P0301, lol....this Trac keeps me up and running..

What's the Make+Model of the plug?
Should be MotorCraft#agsf22fm\sp500 or original maker Autolite#app103
Others are known to cause problems. If plugs are correct + gaps are right,
time to inspect the Wires & pull CoilPack to inspect+OhmCheck.
 
it's one autolite app103, so now i will inspect the wires. Today again, in the morning code 0301, the 0301 and 0171 and after a wile i clear the code and drive smoth as anythink else. So strange....
 
Sounds like whatever is causing the issue, is sensitive to temp, warms up & works ok.
Give Wire#1 & CoilPack a good inspection; see my previous pic for the OhmCheck info.
Another possibility is FuelInjector#1; could try bottle of InjectorCleaner & PremiumGas fillup (money, money!).

will check in deeper to all this, i am not aware, but it's drives me nuts, lol....btw. what is one good obdii scanner for this ford, i used for my mercedes icarsoft, but this is more for european cars..any advise would be cool..i am still like to read some live data..

An Ohm+Volt+Amp\MultiMeter is also handy+essential; using the same digital Fluke meter 30years+ now.
