Got this from Ford about their local Houston "Ford Innovation Test Drive" .

Due to Hurricane Katrina, Ford Motor Company has decided to cancel the Houston Ford Racing event on October 22.

If your schedule permits, we invite you to register for and attend the Dallas Ford Racing event being held at Texas Stadium in Irving on November 3rd. To do so, simply visit www.fordinnovationdrive.com, then click on the 'Registration' tab, enter your last name and your registration ID, and update your registration information.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter and hope to see you at an upcoming event.

On our website, we have added a link to the Red Cross, in case you would like to gather information about the relief efforts or would like to make a donation.

Regards,

The Ford Racing Team

it was something someone heard of in New York and posted here to ask about it. I followed the link he provided and signed up for when it was supposed to be here, but he told us later that it was pretty lame. I thought it might still be fun to drive around in someone else's car for a bit, but apparently they cancelled it.

The Houston event may have been planned for the AstroDome or the other facility currently populated with evacuees.

Yep, that's where it was planned for. There were a lot of things planned for various convention sites around here that have been bumped due to the evacuation.
