Another Towing Question

I have yet to tow anything on my 03 Trac. It has the bumper mount only. I am looking at renting a UHAUL trailer to tow some of my stuff from KY to Indianapolis. Does anyone know if just using the bumper mount will work or should I spend the money on a standard hitch mount. I do not forsee much towing beyond this. Thanks

I would have a hitch installed..U haul will not rent to us because it is an explorer..

There was a lawsuit a few years back where a lady drivin an explorer towing a uhual trailer flipped or sumpthin, sued the crap outta uhual. They put a restriction on explorers after that....

Some dealers may not know about ban. I saw a U-haul pulled by a ST here in Sierra Vista, AZ a month or two ago. Was quite suprised.

Anyway, the bumper mount is good for about 2500 lb I think, and 350 tongue weight. It's printed on the bumper. For a long trip with a U-Haul or other trailer, drop $120 for a frame hitch. Tell U-Haul it's a Ranger 4 door.
