This may be a bonehead question but its got me scratchin my head...

Were is the OEM mast antenna cable located behind the dash? I removed the OEM head unit (09 STA) and there was only the Sirius cable plugged in. I didn't see a typical "thick wire" antenna lead anywhere. Also, the plug-in ring on the OEM cable won't fit into the slot on my Sirius module.

I'm trying to use the Pioneer HD module with the two Sirius modules plugged into an AVIC F90BT. If anyone can shed some light on the antenna issue I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Steve

If you have stock sirius, it's likely that the sirius is piped through a module. The antenna will likely be plugged into that module for the sirius. That's how mine is on my Pioneer AVIC D1. However, mine's an 03...but that's likely how it goes. Keep looking to see if there's a rectangular Sirius module behind there.

Steve, the FM antenna wire was in my '07 to the back of the radio. As for the Pioneer Sirius module with factory sat antenna, remove the 2 piece plastic on the end of the wire, it just snaps together. It'll look like it won't work but it will plug right into the Pioneer module and work fine. The factory sat module is under the right footwell kickpanel. Thats where the factory sat antenna wire terminates.

Thanks guys - no FM antenna lead anywhere. When I pulled the OEM head unit out there were two plastic connectors and the sat antenna. No classic antenna wire anywhere. I'm wondering if the lead for the sat radio carries both signals. I cant trace the wire from the whip antenna since it goes between the fender and inner wall.

Do i need to pull the wire out of the OEM Sirius module in the kick panel to bypass that one all toghether? I'm assuming I'll have to have the new module activated instead of piggy backing off the OEM module. So much for the 6 free months...

Thanks again

Yup, one or the other. Besides I doubt the factory Sirius would f worked wth F90BT anyway. Call Sirius and see if they'll let you transfer over the 6 months? I just added Sirius to GF's car and I had to pay for a whole new subscription! You would think they'd cut you a break for multiple systems?

My 2nd sirius is $6/mo. I got my 2nd system on a deal and when I bought my nav w/sirius module, I called and simply had them transfer the subscription...still at $6/mo!

Bump...

Still needin clarification on this one. I was getting AM/FM and Sirius out of the OEM head unit but I only unplugged one signal wire - NOT of the classic motorola style antenna type. Doesn't make sense to me how both signals were transferred out of one wire. I'm going to need one wire of the classic variety and one of the satellite variety to make everything work. Since the roof puck and wire are run for the OEM Sirius signal it would obviously be easier to use those but the connector has a circular plastic ring around it that "could" be removed by cutting off but I'd rather not so as to be able to re-use it later if necessary.
