Any news on the rumor of SportTrac production extension into December?

Got this reply Yesterday in email...

Dealers were told 9/2 is the last date to order, but we are finishing off the last of the scheduling - we will probably need to collect orders until 9/9 to fill the last production week.

don't count on incentives as mfg's are cutting back on them and with the s/t i am pretty confident they will be minimal or none.

I love mine and wish i did it sooner, But got the color choice i wanted to be different..



Gaven, Get a limited i the copper !!! That was my choice till i saw the adren in blue !!

I want a lighter exterior color, although my Dark Cherry is very pretty in the sun. I do kind of like the copper and the blue, though.



Really- what I REALLY want is the Charcoal BLACK INTERIOR. I am so SICK of the grey and tan interiors that I have had in my Tracs, and in the Rangers and B-4000s before them. I want BLACK!



My '07 Limited is fine, but I hate that tan interior that gets dirty so easily. Black shows dust, but it doesn't get so dirty and grimy looking.



No Xpin needed. I have an alternate source if I wanted one, but the dealer is doing me very nice. I cannot complain about the deal.



It will suck if I order and the incentives go away. I'm thinking that they will because Ford won't have a bunch of Tracs in inventory to clear out.



I'll probably just hang on to my '07 and save my money. I haven't had a raise in several years, and it doesn't look like I'll get on anytime soon.



If I could find what I am looking for sitting on a lot tomorrow, I'd do it, but most of what is available is V6 and all the nice ones have moonroofs. I really need the headroom without a moonroof, and after having a V8 I cannot go back to a V6 in a heavy vehicle like the Trac.



So close, but yet so far. I really should have ordered what I wanted a few months ago. Oh well.

Gavin, kinda gloomy outlook huh?:cry: Me too! Been wanting a new STA for the past couple of years, would love it in a V8, though a 6 would still be palatable as long as it is the STA version. Been trolling the net to get a good look, but they are scarce there too. I too have not had a raise in a few years, but been blessed to stil have a job. But let's look at the brighter side, one day we will have a happy ending to this gloomy story!:banana::driving:

we have a lot of people inquire about the color of the trac. we went with the dark copper and it will change to a lot of different colors depending on the sun. goes from the dark copper, brown, red, maroon, bright copper (not quite as bright as the blazing copper on the edge) and at times it looks almost like the a dark cherry color.



i travel quite a bit and have not seen many in this color. i have seen a few more explorers though.
