I'm looking to get new rims. I've been looking at some 23's. They seem like they might fit depending on the offset but is 10 inches too wide?

IMO, no....Ithink they would rub with 0 offset....To get enough negetive offset that would be needed, the front wheels would be outside of the fender 1 to 1.5 inches.

Whoa, 23s?!? For the money you spend on those and a new set of tires, you could get a supercharger!!! Hell, even after buying the supercharger you'd STILL have some money left over to go buy a pack of gum or something! ;)

baron I've thought about the s/c but I've already got 62k miles on the engine and I've pushed it quite a bit. So getting the s/c might not be too smart lol.

I might not get the 23's cause there arent a lot in the 5 x 4.5.

These engines are a lot tougher than people think they are. ;)

I put mine on at 55k and haven't had a bit of trouble so far.

<knocks on wood>

Sometime tomorrow night, I should be able to post a video of tomorrow's dyno run as well as some updated numbers (I'm hoping for 300 horses...but not holding my breath yet). I bet you could get away with a supercharger as long as it was properly tuned BEFORE you got all crazy with it and ran the piss out of it. hehe

23s are cool and all, but not NEARLY as cool as that high pitched whine that a supercharger makes.

Depends on the tire width, but you want about 4.0"--4.5" backspacing. I'm on the 4x4 boards a lot, only thing with 10" rims on Ranger-based vehicles is that you need to service the front wheel bearings more, at least annually re-pack and adjust them.

8 on the front, 10 on the rear. Backspacing/offset and tire diameter will determine what's going to happen. Evan down here in boynton has 22x9.5 with no rubbing but he is at stock height. I think with a 23" wheel you're tire profile is going to be way short and if you have to compensate for a 10" width, everytime you hit a bump it's going to feel like you don't have tires at all.
