If so and you want to let me in on it that would be great.

thanks

I am considering trading in my '07 ST for a '10 ST. If anyone can help me with an X-Plan pin number it would be greatly appreciated!! :supercool:

I used one from a member here when I bought the '07. Can I use the same one again?

I don't even know if I know what it is. I'd have to see what my paper work says.

How does this work? I have one but have been tentative to use it because it seems as if they check to see who's using it or if you have someone in your family who works for FMC. Do you just present the number somewhere in the midst of hacking out a price for a vehicle? I would love to know what and how it functions in getting a better price/deal.:argue:

Marvin,

You have to be eligible for the X-Plan program. If you're buying a new Ford/Lincoln/Mercury product with the X-Plan, you just say so when you first arrive at the dealership, show them the X-Plan PIN, and ask to see the X-Plan price on the vehicle in which you're interested. The dealer has to show it to you. It's usually around $500 or so above their actual invoice price, sometimes less. They have to sell you the vehicle at the X-Plan price. There's no haggling on the new car. Also, they can't charge any of the usual "document" fees. The only thing you should pay above the X-plan price is the sales tax, unless you buy other dealer options like extended warranty, etc.

And you can still take advantage of any rebates/incentives that are available at the time of purchase. So if there are cash rebates, they can be applied to the X-plan price to make it even lower. Also, oftentimes there are additinional rebates/incentives available exclusively to X-Plan customers that aren't available to the public. These can be applied on top of the public rebates, saving you even more money.

So with the X-Plan, the only thing you have to negotiate is trade-in price, if you're trading a vehicle.

I bought both my 2002 Trac and my 2004 Trac on the X-Plan. A very painless process both times.:haveabeer:

What Is the Ford X-Plan?

By Chad Slayton

he Ford X-Plan is a new vehicle purchase program that is also known as the Partner Recognition Program. Ford Motor Company offers this discount program to their employees, retirees, spouses and other household members of selected Tier 1 suppliers, business partners, fleet partners and special organizations having a certain relationship with the Ford Motor Company. In order to prove you are a member of the household, you must bring your driver's license with the same address as the plan recipient. This program is offered by invitation only.

An eligible employee or retiree can create up to two PINs a year. A PIN is a unique number that is required for the purchase of a vehicle under the X-Plan. The employee or retiree generates the PIN for either themselves or the qualifying family member who is looking to purchase a vehicle. You need to bring this PIN number with you to a Ford dealership to secure the X-Plan discount.

Once you have your PIN number, you must bring it with you to the dealership. When you are approached by a salesperson, it is important that you immediately establish yourself as an X-Plan eligible customer. You are only given two PINs a year, so it is crucial that if you decide not to buy a car at that dealership, they cancel the transaction so your PIN is still valid. So, if you are looking for new cars Weatherford, but decide to purchase a from a car dealership fort worth, make sure you have your PIN transaction canceled or you will be unable to make the purchase in the second location.

Not every car qualifies for the Partner Recognition Program. Before you head over to a dealership though, you can look online to find out which cars are available and which cars are not. It is also important to note that not all dealerships are required to participate. All are invited to partake in offering this plan, but again, they are not required to do so.

Only the vehicle is covered by the plan. Any dealer installed options conversion packages, extended warranties, accessories, etc., are not covered by the Plan and must be agreed upon between you and the dealer. Keep this in mind before choosing the car because you will not receive a discount on any add-ons.

When buying the car, the purchaser is eligible for most other public incentives. Some offers are not compatible with this offer. You will rarely see a lower price than what is offered with the X-Plan unless you see a dealership trying very hard to get traffic or move older inventory. It is okay to ask to see the paperwork on the actual X-Plan pricing to confirm the dealership is giving you the full discount.

As of right now, there is no expiration date for this plan, however Ford Motor Company notes that they reserve the right to modify the program, remove eligibility, or cancel the program at any time.

For those eligible for the Ford X-Plan discount, this is a fantastic program that you can benefit from. Make sure you know the rules and go prepared when you want to purchase your new car with the Partner Recognition Program.

Yep thats basically it.

Last time when I bought the '07 ST I did just that. I told the right off the bat that I had an x-plan pin and that I wanted to order a ST. It was a smooth process from that point on.

This is awesome, only problem is an ID with the same address. But a great way to buy a car. I have a great uncle who retired from FMC... I'll have to look into this with him. Great info!
