Anyone know w what this hole is for?

2003 ST xlt, v6, 4.0, Automatic, 2wd

THis is on the passenger side of my intake . right on top of engine.

Maybe nothing. My '04 has an empty hole also. Never any motor work either.

Access holes for intake bolts. If you point a light straight down you will see a Torx bolt head. There are eight (89 inch lbs.) bolts on Job 2 engines with plastic intakes. 1/4" drive T-30 socket is required to fit through access holes. 3/8" drive socket diameter is too big. Rearmost bolts are difficult to access without climbing on top of the engine.
