Auto Cad Experts?

I'm looking to take a helmet and have it digitized into a 3D Auto Cad drawing are there places that have the technology to do such a thing?

I have worked with acad for about 10 years. versions 10 - 2000. I would imagine that there is somewhere that can do this. I will do some research tomorrow while at work. So I will know what to ask, what exactly are you trying to do with this?

For cheap: Try a friendly prof at a local college or vocational school. He could hand it off to a student for credit or a couple of bucks. Might have the capablity, might not.



For expensive: They're are rapid prototyping outfits that do stuff like that for a living.

Basically what I want to do is take the helmet and create outlines for it so that I can cut decals for all the sections.

I worked with AutoCad for over 15yrs., but I personally would look for a good 3D imaging software out there. I know there is better & less complex stuff out there.

AutoCad, Mechanical Desktop and Inventor for the past 7 years....



Not real sure about digitizing straight into AutoCad.

I would not call myself an expert (17 years experience), but I do a lot of 3d modeling in autocad and other programs. If you are looking for a truly accurate 3d model to make templates from, I would think you need to look for someone with a 3d digitizer. Thats not something that just any Autocad user will have. Sorry I can't be of more help.
