Best Pads?

I'm sure you all know that Ford's stock brake pads give off a ton of dust, but what do you all recommend for a replacement?

I have had Akebono on my '01 Trac (sold that) and also have them on our 300M Special. Brake dust went to none and stopping was much better than stock. I got them from tire rack.com. Not sure if Advance or AutoZone carries them or not.

Dust id not a concern for me. I prefer function over cleanliness.



I use nothing buy Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads.

I use Raybestos ceramic - much less dust and the once annoying squeal is gone.

I recently put Duralast Gold on my ST. They work really nice and virtually no brake dust.

I had the akebonos on my 02, and loved them. they grabbed excellent, and minimal dust. they took a one stop to really claw into the rotor.. I replaced them with the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic mentioned above, and found that they take longer to really grab on. I am running slotted and dimpled rotor. They have more dust than the ceramics, but are way better than OEM. When the PFCM pads finally are warm, they grab better than the ceramics, IMHO...
