I am about to replace my factory tires on my 2001 4x2 Sport Trac. The tire place said that i should only put the factory OEM size back on the truck. I am looking for a bigger tire that is a little wider and just a little taller...just for a better look. What is the biggest size i can put on my truck without any modifications. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!!

You should be able to get away with 265/75's on the stock rim with only minor trimming to the wheel well liners and possibly minor rubbing on the front sway bar during sharp turns, depending on the tread of the tire. If you do a TT/Shackle lift, which is fairly easy, you will have no problems and could even go up to 285's. I have a TT/SL but still opted for the 265 BFG's with a slightly agressive tread. It fills in the wheel well nicely and gives it a subtle 'something extra'.

What about going with a little lower profile and wider, like 265/65/16? Could that be done without any rubbing?
