I took a bike ride up to Niagara Falls on Sunday and thought I'd share some pictures. There are more in my library.

Been there many times. It still never gets old to see it.

I did a drift dive (Scuba) there last year. They sell shirts that say, "When you see the slate, get the F--- out of the water"

Why: At the point where there is no growth, sand or miscellaneous debris on the slate you are less than a mile from the falls.... The water is moving too fast for things to cling to the slate as it is shallower near the falls. Getting the same volume of water in a shallower area means the water has to flow faster.

Nice pictures. Very pretty place.

Nice, I allways liked going there... Doesn't look like much has changed..

My wife and I went there ~5 years ago. Loved it and hope to go back. The hotel we stayed in had a little slot in the wall that you could open so you could hear the falls in the room.

Todd- That last picture of the Aero Car, down in the george there is a spot where you can actually sit in the middle of a whirlpool, we used to go hiking down there all the time, it's really cool!- Very nice pics by the way..

Thanks- we will be there Sunday- first time. Will be driving in from Toronto, I will see if view from Canada is better. We are taking Maid of the Mist as well, then sampling some delectable ice wines on the way back. Thanks for the preview!

The bike riding thing reminded me about a good ride in Abingdon, Va. I've ridden it 3 times so far. 34 miles one way. Beautiful country. The link has some pictures.

Sorry for the hijack.
