I took my 2001 Ford Trac because it would not shitf above second gear and I was getting 1151 and 1351 codes. I thought the sticky valve and the IAC sensor were bad, I was wrong it turns out that I had a blown Intake gasket that was causing the transmission problem and a bad MAS. All total $750.00, OUCH:(

Matt,

The Sport Trac transmission is fully electronic controlled from the ECU. It does not use a vacuum modulator like early Automatic trannys used. Also, vacuum has nothing to do with hydraulics.

If the engine had a blown head gasket, it probably had very low vacuum that an engine sensor detected and the computer was sending confused signals to the transmission.
