I was replacing the passengers side wheel hub bearing ( thanks Woppy and projects section ) and doing the brakes at the same time. All went well on passenger side but when replacing brakes on driver side the top slide pin was siezed. After much twisting in a bench clamp I finally got the pin out, there was a rubber sleave near the end of it and an indent in the pin for the rubber to fit around. The passenger side was not like this and the parts guy said just to put a straight pin in there, that was all he had.

Is it ok with the straight pin?

Get the OEM slider at a parts store, their like $3. You should be able to seperate the rubber sleave and slider pin, clean and sand down the pin, regrease it and put it back in the caliper.

My slider pins on my '04. Have a flat side so they catch and dont turn. With a ruber dust boot on the outside.

Be sure to put them back in with hy temp brake grease.
