It is brake time for me. I am tired of the mushy brakes I have.

What rotors and or pads are you guys using to replace the originals?

Can the original rotors be cut without going below specs?

John- This applies to 2002-08 Explorer Sport Tracs.

I'm using OEM rotors on my '05 XLS RWD with 53K. (Bought used at at 46K)

Replaced the stock pads with Wagner Thermo Quiet Ceramics.

Smooth, quiet, and almost dust free. Highly recommended, check Amazon.

Minimum front rotor thickness is 24.5 mm. (25.1 mm before turning)

Minimum rear disc rotor thickness is 11 mm. (11.6 mm before turning)

Good luck.

Wow, that must be over $1000 worth of stuff.

I may go with either slotted and or drilled rotors if they are worth it.

What experiences do any of you have with them?

I'm not looking for performance brakes just good quality rotors and pads.

I am using the wagner thermo quites now and have used them for years.

I guess I have to take some measurements on the rotors to see if they need replacement.

I am also using speed bleeders.
