tac,

Both brands are well known manufacturers of Performance OEM, and race car braking components as is Baer.

Are you saying that Brembo or Stillen are making brake rotors for the Sport Trac ??

...Rich

IIRC Stillen (cross drilled/Cad plated) has been making front rotors for the 01 4x4 for a long time,, I will check.

I found both plane and slotted Brembos yesturday ($90-$115 each) online.

I also found an autoparts shop online hear in CA that sells a slotted and cross drilled Zinc plated rotor that is manufactured here in CA. ($200 pair + Tax + Shipping)

Summit also carries the PowerSlot for $129 each,, and I have a $20 coupon ,,

Has anyone been able to find rotors for the rear in these brands for '03-'04 ST's? All I can seem to find is rotors for the front. Or are they the same?

No, not the same. The fronts are larger.

Chances are, you won't find many rear upgrades. The ST isn't a sports car and so there really isn't a large market for high-performance rotors, and since most of the braking is done by the front, no need for upgraded rears.

Shoot, I was at Drift Atlanta this past weekend and saw many of the cars using stock rear brakes...including a Silvia S15....granted, it comes with very good brakes to begin with.

Parts America lists the Raybestos front Rotor for $18 ,,Part Number: 66565RGS,, I must have hit the crack pipe and forgot...

I have seen Brembo fronts and rears online, it appears the rears are a lot cheaper then the fronts... Are the rears solid instead of vented or something?

I am temped to try those Akebono Ceramic pads.. anyone try them yet?

Dude,, how can rotors start a $25 or $18.99 for that matter,,, I am scared hold me...

What the heck is a Raybestos Red Label,, is that like Johny Walker Red Label, Blended,, instead of Single Malt?

I could not figure out is Stillen made a rotor for the sport trac or not,, I gave up on their web site, it was beastly,, they just have to much stuff and not enough band width,, they need rockautos less glamerous Java based catalog,,,

I had no Idea the rear disk conversion was this affordable... it would cost what $200 for drums and shoes... so why not $370 for rear disks ,,

tac,

I was not questioning the avaialbility of rotors for the Sport Trac, as much as I was looking for rotors made by the top brake component manufacturers like Brembo or Baer.

There are a lot of companies that make rotors for the ST, and there are even some that make slotted and/or cross-drill rotors, however I would not buy cross-drilled rotors for a street driven vehicle unless it was made by one of the top of the line companies and came with a respectable guarantee, Unfortunately, those are often pretty expensive.

If you don;t mind upgrading to 17" or 18" wheels or larger, your best braking dollar would be to buy an upgrade kit from Brembo or Baer that includes the larger rotors and calipers. Unfortuanely I don;t think either company makes brake upgrade kits for the Sport Trac and the kits are likely to cost about $2500-$3000.

Well I see your point,,

the Brembo plane Rotors are quite resonable,,

So for a I am leaning towards the powerslots with some akebono pads,,,

I am temped to try some of the localy made rotors,, they are about the same price as the powerslots..

I never did find the Baer products?
