I am planning on getting a set on new tires and was curious as to what the Sport Trac needed for a load index since the tires I want come in three diffrent indexes for three different prices.

Load Rating E - 3415lbs - $160.00

Load Rating C - 2470lbs - $150.00

Load Rating SL - 2601lbs - $120.00

Thanks

If you go on tirerack.com you can put in your vehicle info and get all tires they sell recomended for the Trac. I did and the specs for all tires the lowest rating (one tire brand) was around 1700lbs. All the others were over 2000lbs. So IMHO any of those would be ok. Just depends on what you want to haul in the Trac.

The C's will be fine. Standard tires on a Trac are P rated, i.e. Passenger car. C is a step up. SL means Standard Load. I'm not sure why that's rated for more weight than the C's. FWIW, E's are for 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, put them on a Trac and it will ride real hard because they're way stiffer.
