Sears has Bridgestone Dueler APT-III tires on sale. They look pretty good at a good price, with a 60,000 mile warranty.

Anyone have any of these?

Wife needs new tires on her Jeep Liberty. She does 98% highway driving, but alse needs something good in snow. My first choice was the BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/As, until I saw these in the paper this morning.

I couldn't find them on the Bridgestone site, but here they are on the Sears site:

We bought these same tires at Sears in June. I went in to get the BFG All-Terrains, but they would have cost over $100 more per each tire. The APV's had the same tread design and a good Sears warranty, so it was to good to turn down. We moved to Kentucky in July and drove cross country with them and had not one problem.

Gavin,

I have the Radial Long Trail T/A. I love them.

BJ's Wholesale Club has them for the Trac for like $118.00/ea mounted and balanced.

I know the tires you want are for your Wife's Jeep Liberty, but I just thought I would give you something to compare to.

The tires you listed above on the Sears website are $122.54/ea, but I don't know if it includes mounting and balancing or not.

Keep in mind, most places that advertise a really low price try to make it up on the mounting and balancing. Some places charge as much as $25.00/tire. So your $117.00 tire might end up costing $142.00.

So, if I were to go to BJ's and buy 4 BFG tires for $118.00/each I would pay $472.00 for a set compared to $590.00 I could possibly pay for the Bridgestone.

NTB (National Tire and Battery) is notorious for quoting a cheap price for tires, but charging the hell out of mounting and balancing. Plus they recomend (I agree with them) new valve stems, but want to charge $3.00/each for them. (I don't agree with that)

Also, places like Sam's Club and BJ's offer free road hazzard warranty. NTB, and others, charge another $20.00/tire for the road hazzard warranty. Then the price above for my Trac for the Bridgestones is now $670.00.

What I am essentially saying is sometimes the best prices aren't the best afterall.

As for the Snow traction on the BFG's, I can't comment on that because it isn't winter yet. I run dedicated snow tires after the 1st of the year. Before that, I keep the OE wheels on for my Trip to Florida in December.
