Build and Price a 2007 Ford Edge

I got an e-mail in from Ford with a link to build and price a 2007 Ford Edge. These things look nice, but man, they're not going to be cheap! $36-$37K for a loaded one!



Here's what I still don't understand about Ford: The Edge won't even be out until fall, but they have this info on their web site. Yet, the 2007 ST is now in showrooms, and there's nothing about it on the web site other than what's been there about the "future 2007 ST" for over nine months.

With a base price of about $27,000, it's obvious that they aren't going to be cheap.



The Edge was a very popular and highly reknown once it popped up in the car shows. However, Ford "quietly" introduced the new Sport Trac. Most information about the new ST has been circulating through us enthusiasts, but not through dealerships. The Edge has been a hit ever since Ford introduced it and they seem to be running with the ball. I think they have a winner with it. It may take away some of the market from the Freestyle and/or Escape and it may be slightly on the expensive side, but I like the bold styling and options available.

That's exactly what a Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) is supposed to be. Just like the Freestyle and Pacifica.

Seems pretty cool to me. I have a wife, a kid, and 2 dogs that go everywhere, and dodge neon won't cut it for long. Probably wait to get something used though. Anybody know the expected mpg?
