I just traded some S-10 parts for 2 10" MTX subs in slim truck box and a 500 watt amp. i would like to build either an under seat box/box's or behind the seat box for these subs, could anyone who has built or bought box/box's post some pic's and or measurements for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would possibly take easy way out and buy a box or two for right price if anyone has any for sale. Thanks, Jerry

Most of the MTX subs are too deep to go behind the seats, they might work if you fiberglass though. Best bet will be under the seat, but even that is a tight squeeze. Sorry no dimensions though.

I measured the depth of the speaker and it's just under 4" deep.

When I was making boxes, if you removed all the crap from behind the seats I could make an all wood box to fit 5.25" of mounting depth. So you might be able to make that work, but I don't have the measurements anymore. I'm sure someone else does.

yeah, my old memphis 10's were a little but deeper than those and i made them. but i wanted the to not touch the back of the seat so i built the back of the box out of fiberglass. pics should be in the library. I dont have measurements though because that box got stolen. I have 2 tens back there now but they are shallow mount memphis's.

Just got my new head unit, 6x8 premier's, and 4 channel amp installed, and I'm looking into different sub enclosure options right now as well.

I'm leaning toward the single 10" underseat enclosure and I think there's a dual 8" enclosure for under the seat as well. With the 2 amps mounted behind the back seats, I think that would be the cleanest set up for me.

Not to hijack the thread, but do these underseat enclosures produce a decent amount of bass?

As long as they have good airspace for the sub they would produce great bass. If you have a sub that plays best between .60 and 1ft^3 it will have deeper bass at 1ft^3 and better response with the .60.

As long as your pushing near the req RMS it should sound excellent.

If you want more low end you can port the enclosure. The downside to porting is that you need more airspace. Sometimes nearly double.

Ported enclosures are more efficient and you will get more from your amp.
