there's an annoying buzzing sound coming from what sounds to be behind the intrument cluster and i dont know how to takle it. it seem to happen only at around 1100 rpms especially when cold. any thoughts? thanks

Greg this was discussed, I know there was a fix too.... I just unfortunately don't remember what it was..

The buzzing accelerator cable. It's caused by a bad plastic clip where it attaches to the the engine. Fixed it on my truck and now it only buzzes when it's under 10F and the cruise control is on and I'm going up a slight grade at exactly 57 mph. Honest to God.

I think it was actually the cruise cable, not the accelerator. In either case, same general premis.

Also, the early Tracs had a buzzing issue with the PCM's. The fix (From Ford) was to remove the computer and place a pad of foam on top of the chit and reinstall..

I think it is the speedo cable, but it only makes the noise when the crusie control is on.

My 1994 escort did this, but all the time (had no cruside control) eventually after 30,000 - 40,000 miles, it stopped.

Annoying noise!
