Can any Texas members shed some light on this?

Don't know but I'd guess it was only a sales gimmick by the Ford dealers of Texas. Probably a set package of options with the 'Texas Edition logo added.

You can buy those badges at parts stores and other retailers. When I lived in Oregon they had them at either Checkers or O'Rielly's can't remember but it said Oregon Edition.

Go to ebay motors and you'll find many texas dealers using this gimmick...

Surprised there isn't an Obama Edition logo to pitch his Government Motors vehicles...

Oh, right, they're saving a spot on Mt Rushmore....duh....:bwahaha:

It's just a marketing gimick.....they add a few things like Chrome Steps, Upgraded Rims

6 CD stereo, fog lampsdoor keypad unlock and emblems. It's basically an STX F-150 that's upgraded to "XLT" like status but called "TEXAS EDITION"....In Oklahoma they call it the "Oklahoma Edition". It's the same thing.

Toyota and Chevy also at least here in TX have a "TEXAS" type/emblemed truck and Dodge calls theirs the "Lone Star" Edition.

My nieghbor has a California Mustang. The only diference in looks and equipment, is it didnt come with the badges. Identifying it as one.

I saw some California Mustangs on a recent trip there. Those things are real, hard-core race cars! They're just hauling groceries as a temporary gig... :bwahaha:

Here in north west Alabama (ROLL TIDE) the dealer made a silver bullet special. Back in the late 80's. It was a ford ranger with a chrome roll bar and mirror stripes and lettering.

Bullet holes!!

I like that.

Actually they sell so many trucks in Texas there are several "Texas Editions" including the "King Ranch Edition" named after the biggest ranch in the state. Even the truck TV commercials here in the lone star state are focused just for Texans. It's just a big market for trucks down here. I hardly see anything but truck commercials on TV down here.

As previously stated, it is just a trim package marketed in Texas. They probably only do that in Texas because of the popularity of Trucks and large SUV's in Texas so they even add the special badging so everyone knows it's a "Texas Edition". Not much different than an "Adrenlin", "XLT" or "Eddie Bauer" badge on other Ford vehicles.

Caymen,

The Ego that Texans have

Probably no bigger than your's :cheeky:

In Texas, the two favorite pasttimes are drinkin' and shootin'(oh yeah, rootin' for the Cowboys). My cousin Ed bought a new truck, went to a friends house. The drinking commenced and now has three bullet holes in the bed of his truck to prove it. His friend said "now, it a Texas truck!" True story. Bob

I live in PA and a guy down the street from me just got a new F-250 Crew Cab diesel in monochrome yellow and it says Amarillo Edition on it. I dunno.

F-250 Amarillo package - only come in yellow. They add brushed aluminum door trim, chrome accents and Amarillo logos. It isn't purely a trim and styling upgrade as it adds a 10,000-pound GVWR tow package and an automatic dual-zone climate control system.
