:angry:I bought a Sport Trac last year and quit happy with it. But I found out some negative information about a month ago. I believe many Explorer owners are not aware of. I went to U-Haul to see what size trailer I could use with my Sport Trac and the agent told me none. Because of lawsuit with Ford and Firestone a few years ago and a rental trailer was being towed with the incident. you cannot get a rental trailer from U-Haul or Nation-wide. I wonder why Ford Motor Co. or its Dealers do not state this.

This has been posted before. Some just told them it was a "Ranger" or had a different vehicle to get it and still hauled it with the ST. They won't because it has "Explorer" in the name. Do a search and you'll see how some got around it.;)

Sucks. There was a petition that went around for a while trying to change it. If Ford told you you would not be able to rent a trailer, it may sway you away from buying a Ford... Most people find out the same way as you and it puts them in quite a pinch. If you were planning on moving on a certain day, and show up that day to pick up your trailer, get there and they say too bad.... Sucks.

We've known about this issue for quite some time, in fact there used to be a place on the front page where you could sign a petition to protest. The issue is bad drivers sueing U-Haul and winning. Ford has even attempted to work with them on this to no avail.

Some members hereactually said they would not sign the petition. Avoid UHaul completely and send them a FU letter once in a while.

I never was very impressed with quality of U-Haul equipment. It all looks beat to hell and a road hazard, anyway.

You're right Darin. Most of their stuff looks like it needs to be recycled.

My daughter's boyfriend and I both have Sport Tracs and he found out when he was going to move that U-Haul would not rent a trailer to him. It certainly put him in a bind.

If it says Explorer, it is a No-No. Mercury Mountaineer or Lincoln Avaitor, fine. Explorer...NO!

I know, same vehicle, same everything...well not quite. That little emblem that says Explorer.

I never rent from U-Haul. Ever. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I just go to my local "rent all" center...they let me rent a trailer any time I want. It's cheaper than U-Haul, too.
