I know this has come up in previous posts but I was wondering if there have been any problems carrying a 600lb (Kodiak 450) or equal 4 wheeler in the back of a Sport Trac. My comcern is the tailgate of the truck and that the front wheels of the 4 wheeler bow in when they squeeze between the wheel wells of the truck. Thanks.

I carry a ATV frequently in my ST. I've carried a Timberwolf 250 with no problems, as well as a Big Bear 350, which was a tighter squeeze, but it fit fine, and my tailgate was fine. Even after a 150 mile trip. Just strap it down well and you'll be fine.

just to be safe you can place a piece of 2 by 4 that spans the tailgate length. i cant remember who, but a member on here has a picture of this set up with a street bike in hte bed. you will be fine though, i carry dirtbikes back there all the time.

I carry my Honda Rancher in mine w/ no problem. But w/ the 450 you want to carry I think it will be a tight squeeze between the fender wells. You will probably scuff them up. But if you are not worried about some scuff marks I think you will be fine.

I used the wood to help distribute the weight across the whole tailgate. I don't know if it made a difference or not but I didn't have any problems.

There's a guy here who has these two ramps going the oppostite direction you'd expect on his truck. He drives the ATV right up the ramp and carries it essentially on top of the bed. He's got a full-sized truck and carries two at a time. One should fit on an ST with a setup like that. However, it's kind of a big, semi-permenant setup.

i had my yamaha raptor in mine. fits fine. pretty much the same as the street bike in the picture above. for a four wheeler you just have to put the front tires on top of the wheel wells.

take care
