neighbor has a 96 explorer with a p0400 code.



what does she need to get repaired?



though i had seen this code listed before

but i can find it with a search

P0400 EGR Flow Malfunction



Could be a bad vacuum line, Bad egr solenoid, bad DPFE sensor if equipped, Bed EGR valve.

educated guess as to where to start?

she doesnt have a lot of cash to throw at it

due to deadbeat soon to be x-husband

Rich, i would see of that motor has the DPFE sensor, and start there. Make sure all connectors are on and tight, check the vacuum line to the EGR...
