Check engine light... Please Help!!!

Hello All



I was on my way home from work yesterday planning to post a message here thanking you all for the advice on the DPFE sensor. I had a check engine light two weeks ago 0401 and I read here that I should replace this sensor. Well, I did and the light went away until yesterday evening. I went and had the code read again and it is the 0401 code again. What else can I do to fix this problem? Does the EGR need cleaned??? If so, how do I do that. Thanks again for all the advice. You guys have saved me many dollars.

Your EGR valve may be bad, OR the tube is clogged...



You can test the valve with the truck running Remove the vacuum line off the top, Place another line on top or a hand held vacuum pump. Apply suction, to the top of the valve and the truck should stumble and or stall... IF you only suck air, the valve is more likely bad. Also to remove the tube off the side is not that hard, and you can clean it with cleaner..
