Don't know how many like or watch wrestling. But on tonights WWE: RAW, they stated Chris Benoit with family died this afternoon, which included his wife and son. Crazy stuff

oh yeah, i knew McMahon wasn't dead.

I just read about that. apparently Raw is starting with McMahon in the ring admitting to his death as a work and benoits being real. Its going to be a tribute show to benoit

Sad....

He was allways fun to watch.....

Sad to hear. I used to watch it quite a bit when he wrestled for WCW. Be interesting to hear what happened. It sounds like something weird went on, since nobody's talking.:(

That is so sad even though I am not a fan of wrestling. I cannot believe that none of the news shows are carrying this story, and one would think that the media would be all over this.

I found this to be a bit odd:

No information is yet available about the cause of his death.

This is the only news article I have found on it. I'm not sure if the Edmonton Sun is a reliable source or not, since they misspelled "family" on the title of the article.

Since this is a local story for me, it happened in my city, I'm sure the local papers will be on it.

Here's a link from the main local paper, which will be a good source for info unless a bigger agency picks the story up.

Very tragic... From what they are saying murder suicide.. I don't understand how anyone could harm a child.. A father/ parent is the one they trust the most, look up to, and is there to protect them.. I am sad just thinking about it. Hearing this definately made me give my kids another hug & kiss goodnight tonight.. :(

I don't ever watch wrestling, but the story is interesting. The sherriff says the details will be shocking when they are released. A story I read said they were not shot or stabbed, but that the murder weapon was found at the scene. In the back of my mind I think the whole deal could be a hoax, like everything else in "professional" wrestling, but sadly it probably is real.

23ballistic,

The whole "murder-suicide" phenomenon is hard to understand, but a little less so if you consider that most who commit it ultimately want to kill themselves. Killing the other loved ones first simply sets up a "no turning back" situation making it "easier" to kill oneself. Not that killing yourself is easy...I understand it is very, very difficult to do as one has to overcome our most basic instincts...survival.

There is a similar theme in "suicide-by-cop" in that one sets up a "no turning back" scenario in order to kill themselves.

Beyond the psychology of this it is still very sad.

Just anounced on CNN. Pretty much what I expected. Pretty sad. If you're gonna do yourself in, do it. Don't take the unwilling with you. Just another sad steroid story.
