Hello everybody! I guess I am now officially in the "Sport Trac Club" I just bought a 2007 Limited V8 silver. Love it. But I would like to swap the aluminum wheels with brand new Good Year Eagle tires on them for your chrome wheels. I am in Clearwater, FL. I will travel. Thank You.

WELCOME :driving:

i had an 07 lmtd with "chrome" factory wheels.

if you are referring to the factory "chrome" wheels, IMO, i would keep your alum wheels.

the "chrome" wheel option/package is a big waste of money for a fake chrome plastic overlay.

again, IMO, keep your stock or get a nice set of aftermarket rims.

Depends what you are looking for - the overlay is actually a great product called PVD and it turns factory wheels into very nice looking wheels - this process is far from fake as stated - in fact - they clean the wheels from all clearcoat and then add the chrome process. This is not a cheap process - about $125 per wheel and PVD doesnt corroide plus has a lifetime warranty. This can be done for an inexpensive amount without worrying about anything wheel related for engine, transmission, or speedometer. Here is a Pix of Black Chrome factory wheels - Far from Fake as you can see -

Just bought a new 2010 LTD with the "chrome" wheels and they are indeed plastic covers, not actual platings. I got rid of them quickly.

Also I have heard complaints, about. Folks with the plastic chrome overlays saying, they made creaking sounds. The dealers wont do anything under warranty, either.

I replaced the stock alluminum "Limited" rims for a set of aftermarket 20"x,8.5" chrome Boss 327 wheels with 275/45-20" Toyo summer tires. Used the stock ones for my winter tires. Bridgestone bilizzak, 235/65-18' The Boss rims look very close to the Adrenelin style.

scsvt,

fact: the FAKE chrome overlays are advertised as a "chrome" pkg option.

they are plastic pos wheel covers.

yes, eddie they did make a cracking noise when turning and ford did acknowledge i believe a TSB or something. not sure what the cure was, but it should be throw them out. they suck and are big waste of money.

Off course here, the Adrenalin does not use overlays... Never has... chroming wheels is not the same as the factory XLT or Limited overlays so we are not talking about the same topic.

So I am out of this thread...
