Class II Hitch

Checked with 5 of the trailer hitch welding shops in Winnipeg and NONE will remove the class II receiver and replace it with a class III. All are concerned about Ford and crash test issues. They did offer to put another hitch under it. They can kiss my hairy............well you get the idea. i will go to North Dakota and find a shop to make the switch. This is ridiculous. The class II is more than adequate for my boat but just looks so "Mickey Mouse".

Ford will do it for about $1,2000.00. I'm sure there is someone out there that has improvised and found a good welder other than a dealer to cut out the class II and install a class III. Please post your results. Thank you
