Aloha folks, I have a Dell laptop with both Windows XP and 7 installed. 7 is not a legal system and I would like to get rid of it. 'problem is, I can't find how to uninstall it. Do any of you know the steps to uninstall? It doesn't show from the control panel or under C drive!

TKS God bless Ed

Format the harddrive and install a legal operating system...if you have one. Be sure to save your data first. Most PC's made over the past 10+ years will have a separate partition on the harddrive that contains a backup of the original system OS and software. They usually have a CD/DVD restore disk that allows you to reboot from the restore disk and it will contain the software needed to access the separate restore partition to get your PC back to the way it was when you purchased it.

If you wrote over the restore partition (as many people do) then you only option is to get a legal copy of a suitable version of Windows 8.1 or 10 (not an upgrade to 8.1 or 10) and install it. Windows will automatically do a format on the harddrive before installing the new OS.
