Did they really come with just a big empty space where the bag should be?

Some STs came equipped with the bag that you see. The bag went in that "big empty space." Some people take it out for whatever reason and either lost it, sold it, or never put it back. I personally have never taken it out other than when I was cleaning the interior.

I cary my 45 and 38 in mine. I leave it unzipped when I am on the road and then get it out when I get to where I'm going.
