Every year there is a model airplane show here in Dayton, Ohio at the U.S. Air Force Museum. It is on Labor Day(Fri, Sat & Sun) every year. The show is the D.O.G.S.(Dayton Ohio Giant Scale) show. It is a pretty good show with as lot of acrobatic planes, lots of Warbirds, Helicopters and 6-10 jets! They use an old runway at Wright field next to the Air Force Museum. No charge for admission.

There were lots of warbirds this year and the jets were awsome as usual(especiallu Lewis Patton's jet which is one of my favorites). This year the B-29 with the XB1 did not show up. It has been there in previous years and is a show stopper!

I'd recommend anyone to come to this event. Great show and you can also see the best aircraft museum(IMO) and I believe it is still free too. The museum has aircraft from the turn of the century right up to the present. The only surviving XB-70 is at the Museum. They also have the presidential planes of Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy and I think Reagan here that you can walk through.

Take care, Gary

I second how great the museum is. Long ago, I had a membership there. I've only been there once since they added the new hangar and the imax theater.

There are now 3 gigantic hangers and the IMax is still operating. It is a really neat thing to have all these historic planes in our area. Most of the planes are now inside so they are protected from the decay of the weather.

Last time I was there, there were the original 2 (in line to look like one with the gift shop between) and then they added the back big hangar and killed the annex.

I lived in Germantown and Middletown.

The Museum at Wright Patterson is one of the few things I miss about leaving the area. When I lived in Michigan we would go to the museum once a year and spend two days each time. It really defies description, it's something you must see.

The museum would be a great place to have a mini meet and greet. I have been there several times and always loved it. What do you think??
