Today while going to the bank a car swered into my lane and made me go onto the side of the rode hitting a huge ass pot hole cracking the inside of my rim and bending my rim a little. is there any way to send it off somewhere and get it fixed or do i have to get a new rim. Cause 1 new rim will be 400 and i really dont wanna pay that. so i didnt know if u could fix a cracked rim or what. please let me know something. thanks

Did you check with the manufactor? Some high dollar rims have a lifetime warranty against breaking from road hazzard..

Check with your insurance company. That may be covered under your Comprehensive coverage and most people carry a much lower deductable on Comprehensive coverage some as low as $0 deductables.

Edited: If you hit the pot hole hard enought to damage the rim, you probably damaged the tire as well and it should be replaced. Usually it's damaged internally in the tread area and cannot be seen, but you will start to notice abnormal wear patterns on that tire in the future so you might as well get it replaced too, especially if you file it on your insurance.

I looked around at getting one repaired a few years back and found it cost prohibitive with all the ones available on E-bay, etc. I elected to go with aftermarket wheels.....

Josh has aftermarket rims already..

Josh there are places that repair rims... I think 1 of them is 1800 Fix Rims....

Look around by you or call local body shops, they will know of a few places..

Many years ago I had an aluminum rim fail suddenly. It actually blew the outside part of the rim off (the outside tire bead seat) Luckily it was at slow speed and I did not crash as a result. The rim must have been damaged and I did not know it. Just be careful.
