I have a 2003 sport track. I believe it's an xlt but can't remember. It has a 5 speed manual if that helps. Anyways, the cruise control won't work. It looks like its an add on as you can move it in many directions. It's on the left side of the steering column. It seems like that is where the tilt steering level would be if I had one. Any clue what may be the problem? The right side of my instrument panel doesn't light up either. Could they be related?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It does sound as if your cruise is add on. The intrument panel is a seperate issue. I think there is a project for changing dash bulbs. be sure to replace all of them. It is is alot of taking things apart to get the panel out.

On the cruise I would start looking for a fuse. Also there might be a mechanical switch on the brake pedal for the drop out circuit. Or it maybe using the existing brake light switch. I dought add on would use the hydralic oem style dropout. On the end of the master cylinder. Check to see if the add on unit under the hood came loose from the throttle body.

Other wise if you are familiar with a vom. Start checking for 12vdc at the different points that should be, when the unit is turned on.
