That is one of the original prototypes isn't it? When they marketed it as a prototype that would have the 5.4 and be an SVT version?

I like it and would take it... :)

"Custom"?

That's simply the 2005 SVT Adrenalin concept shown in a color besides the red that we're all familiar with. If you Google "2005 Sport Trac Adrenalin Concept", you'll find these pictures with related articles. And the background/setting is the same one found in Ford's official press release photos of the red SVT/STA concept vehicle.

AHHHHHH... OK...... Some one emailed them to me.....

Thanks

No, the SVT folks were developing the SVT Adrenalin with the 4.6L supercharged "Terminator" engine featured in the 2003-2004 SVT Cobra Mustangs, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission in the Adrenalin. I've spoken several times at length with a member of the SVT staff, and he told me the SVT Adrenalin test mules were total beasts, and would've been one hellacious performance truck if they'd went to production.

Accountants/beancounters at Ford. This was being developed right around the same time that Ford came to grips with their financial troubles and began to take steps to get back on a more profitable path. This was when they took drastic measures like mortgaging pretty much everything, including the Blue Oval trademark itself. And low production, niche-market vehicles like the SVT Adrenalin were the first to go, because they weren't profitable at all. That's also why there hasn't been a SVT Lightning since 2004 either.

This also is the vehicle that, depending on what source you read, one (or four?) survived the shredder and was auctioned off. Somewhere out there someone owns a non-street legal, but beastly truck.

How cool would it be to own that truck. No other truck like it in the world but thousands of adrenalin pkg Gen 2. STAs out there that want to be that truck.

yea that was the supercharged concept with functional side vents to help cool the motor... thats the adrenalin as it should have been made...however, it needs a black grille lol

While that concept STA is definitely sharp, don't forget Gen2 V8 STA owners there are aftermarket options out there to get that Terminator beast :fire: power.

I don't like it. It sure doesn't look like it would haul much payload before bottoming out, and I doubt that it would be worth a crap off road.

Sorry, but I believe a truck should be a truck. If you want a car, get a car.

I completely disagree with you Gavin.

I don't want a car. I want a decent tow capacity and I want a truck that looks like it's going 100mph standing still. I want AWD. I want a V8. I don't want something huge like a Ram or F150. I don't carry a massive payload and I knew that when I bought the ST. Otherwise I would have bought a half ton truck. I just don't need those features.

Even when I had my lifted F150, F350 and my 2010 Ram I rarely took them offroad...or at least...in a situation that I consider real offroading. Driving on a dirt lane in a pasture doesn't qualify as real offroading to me.

I Loved the SVT Lighting. I didn't buy it because it was a reg cab with no option for a AWD. I'd but an SVT Lightning over a Mustang any day of the week because I feel it has a higher utility and it's considerably more rare than a Mustang.

If you want a real truck then buy an F150. If you want a real truck, don't buy an Adrenalin package?

It's all about what you need the vehicle to do for you.

For me, the Gen2 STA is the perfect truck. I couldn't afford an SVT Adrenalin anyway. They would be a $50,000 + truck. I'm glad they just built it as an appearance package. I can afford it and I don't have to put premium octane in it if I don't want to.
