Well I'm back home now .....right outside of New Orleans. I am one of the VERY fortunate one who has little or no damage to my house. But I can't say the same for our camp in Poplaurville, Miss. After cutting our way through 2 miles of down trees .......

This is what we found ....

It's really not too bad ....couple holes punched through roof but it still standing !!!

We have hundreds of trees down on our property ....you can not walk 3 ft w/o there being a tree blocking your way. Still I think we were lucky ..I know people who are alot worse off.

Here's some pics that a friend of my aunt took.

Good luck with your cleanup Cajun. I'll be heading down that way probably over Thanksgiving break to help my family do some clean up.

WOW, I used to live in mobile home. Your really lucky that those stands held out. Your really fortunate, the trees will grow back. :)

Glad your home and ok!!!

Glad to hear you survived Cajun....sorry to hear about your losses. At least you have a Sport trac to help recover... you could be in a chevy....

Mother Nature is one tuff cookie.

Glad to see you suffered minimal damage. I have seen the boat type pictures in the past when the Grand Rive, (Ohio)r freezes and floods. It picks up the boats and moves them miles from where they were.

I'm on my way back home from spending the week in the New Orleans area. I have relatives that live in St Bernard Parish and we went down to help do what we could. I didn't make it into New Orleans actually, but spent quite a bit of time in Slidell, LA and St Bernard parish. The amount of damage is unbelievable. Almost everything is devastated. If the hurricane winds and storm surge didn't destroy something then the flood from the failed levees did. We heard rumors that they might not get power back until until November or December. It wouldn't surprise me if they end up demolishing most if not all of the homes in the area.

I will post some pictures when I get back home.
