I woke up today with a dead battery. So I jump started it and drove down to Sears, who told me that my battery and alternator were fine. Is their a problem with 2001's sucking battery juice overnight?

Possible bad or loose ground somewhere. Any aftermarket electronics on your ST chase those wires and put a main turn off switch for those devises.

Make sure a light was not left on, Clean and tighten the battery terminals, Check the water level in the battery...
IF the battery is older then 4 or 5 years... REPLACE it now..
and Henry, Can you update your profile ... IT helps us know what year and type of ST you have for diagnosing problems like this..

NOTHING aftermarket on my ST. I tightened the terminals (didn't need it and they were clean).

2001 OEM battery? You got more than you deserved! Replace that battery!
