Since this last summer I have lost a little over 50 lbs. I lost about 10 lbs over last summer, then since November I have lost the other 40. I wont waste your time telling you how I did this (if you want to know you can e-mail [email protected]) But since then I have really become involved in working out with weights. I have worked out in the past but since I have lost some weight I have found that working out now gives me visual results faster. Anyway I have reached my goal of 50 lbs, and still lose a little here and there. I now eat more of what I want but still eat very healthy, and smaller portions than I ever have. I have noticed since I started working out, when I want a snack I look for stuff high in protien, to give me the best of both worlds (snack & production). I came across protien pancakes earlier today and had them tonight for dinner. I would give them a 6-7 out of 10 (10 being the best). That got me thinking, I wonder what else is out there that I dont know about.

If you have any protien rich recipes please let me know. You can either e-mail them to me, or just post them on here. Thanks! Sorry for posting this on this site, but this forum is just the right size, and anytime I have a question I always get great feedback from you guys. Those bodybuilder forums are just a bunch of guys full of theirself so I try to avoid that crap.

Thanks again!

One thing that I like to do is make smoothies. I only have a blender but I buy frozen fruit and mix powder protein with it. Buying a tropical fruit blend and a tropical flavor powder has a nice taste. I slacked off through the winter but now it is hot again so I'm planning on starting back. Fresh fruit works well also but you have to use more ice.

I've tried pancakes and muffins. I also used some protein in a marinade/basting sauce.

Whey protein powder mixed with milk helps to build lean muscle. You can buy flavored and sweetened shake types. The least expensive can be found at Walmart in the health food aisle. Drink after your workout to provide both carbs and protein.

I got a good workout schedule. I wake up and go to work at 6:30am with a bunch of illegals. Keeps me in shape, then I go to my second job from 5pm-10:30pm. I have lost 13 pounds in the past 2 weeks.

Smothies/shakes (I have 2 - 3 a day ... right now Im an a banana kick). Also you can make your pancakes (replace 1 cup of the flour with protein powder... don't use white flour.. bad for you). you can also make cupcakes, cookies... you name it.

In the past I have made energy bars (just look them up in google, and take out anything unhealthy in the recipe and add soem protei powder)

Personally when I want a quick snack (call me crazy) I eat a chicken breast or have a shake. Every sunday I cook up about 10 chicken breasts and put them in the fridge for meals/snacks.

remember that while you are losing weight you want to make sure you dont lose muscle mass so have a good healthy portion or 2 of glutamine (for your amino acids) and eat approx. 1.2 grams of protein per KG you weigh to maintain and 1.2 grams of protein per pound you weigh to gain muscle.

You should try Instone's protein pudding, it's the bomb. What does build muscle is the macronutrient makeup of high-quality protein/carb/fat sources --> 40/40/20 (protein/carb/fat) is a good start, try from there and tweak it. WRT fat loss, you can even taper your carbs i.e. no carbs after 2:00pm to even further increase metabolic rate. Lean protein sources (chicken, turkey, lean beef), complex carbs (brown rice, oatmeal, yams), and *good* fats (in addition to naturally-occurring fat, take in omega3's/6's = flaxseed oil, mixed flaxseed, etc.). For a good shake, put in protein powder (or reasonable meal replacement powder), milled flaxseed (you can get these at any GNC), some ice...whip it up and go!

I'm going to a fitness thing this w/end w/ a buddy from MBA-school (former tight end for VA Tech)...should be a neat time, I'll e-mail you on how it goes.

Happy lifting,

R
