Many aftermarket choices fit such as PML, TrickFlow, T/A, G2, ClearGearz, etc. Haven't heard of fitment issues although the sway bar clearance

is close if you are lowered, and haven't shortened the rear sway bar end links. Very important to use the factory fill plug location for proper fill level.

According to eBay, only 1 out of every 100 covers is suited for the ST

Could you post a link? Interested to see what the Ebay "gurus" are saying.

I was very happy with the Mag-Hytec cover I put on my 2002 2WD. No problem with clearance and the quality is outstanding. Pricey but worth it IMO.

For heavy duty, I like my Riddler.

I bought a Dorman plated stamped steel one from Rockauto.com for about $15.00

Should look good when I get it on the truck. Just gotta pick up my LS lube from Ford and get some time in the evening.

The less expensive covers don't have drain plugs like the Mag-Hytec, so subsequent lube changes still require pulling the cover. The aftermarket ones with drain plugs are the way to go, IMO.

On the other hand, I like to inspect the differential when I change fluid and taking the cover off is not really a difficult task.

Hugh, valid point. Kinda messy and time-consuming though. Me, I like quick and clean, especially when dealing with smelly gear lube.

Put a PML (yourcovers.com) on mine. So much nicer when changing fluids, especically if you ford rivers a lot and need to change it frequently.

Consider the material they're made out of for your application, too. Aluminum is great for heat dissipation but not as strong as iron for potential contact.
