Just shipped one. Did a fair amount of research on it. Basically, it is not a weight issue, it is a size issue. Out the door weight was 82 pounds if I recall correctly. But like I said, it was the size that dictated the price. It will go as a Class 3 over size package.
Coast me $118.00 with $500.00 insurance. To give you an example, I priced out the extender as well. Assembled it also would have been $118.00. And it weighed like 25 pounds. When I took it apart and took it back to get it priced out it was $36.00 dollars....
