Dingo,

I want to try to get some good midbass out of my new stereo system, and what im wondering is, if a speaker with the following specs would fit in the front doors, without taking he space of the factory speaker location... Think it would fit?

3.4" Mounting Depth, 8.5" Diameter

Thanks!

Another question I got is... I was running some ideas by a few people online and one thing that came up that kind of intrigued me was somehow mounting the sub under the vehicle.... anyone looked into doing this kind of think before?

Why not buy a quality 6.5" component set? For all the work/cost to fit an 8" in the door you could buy some HIGH quality 6.5s and give them some nice power.

Another way to get better midbass up front from the door speakers is: Sound Deadning materials... Like Dynamat. I know there are lots others out there too. thats just the one i can think of off hand...

Also if you have 2 seperate speakers in the door, not including the tweeters you'll need to somehow enclose them seperately... so it may be a big ordeal if you try to put 2 different sizes in the door.

If you must have a seperate midbass speaker then i'd go with custom kickpanels instead... but as always it's your ST, and what u do is all up to u...

Keep us informed on what you decide to do....

I have the ZR650-CSi's which I had before and I think they are very good quality, but no midbass driver that i've heard in the past 15 years impressed me too much... Just trying to go the extra distance this time. The doors will be lines with 2 layers of dynamat extreme (on order).
