I have a couple of devices that use a FM transmitter and I'm not always happy with the way they work. I found this item that will add an auxiliary input jack directly to the factory installed radio. I was wondering if anyone out there has used it and what you thought about it.

that will work onlyif you have the "external CD changer" factory system...I have a 2001 Sport trac with basic stereo, there is not CD changer port onthe back of my stereo thus I cannot use it....there is a basic modulator that will connect via RCA to the device you are using and the FM antenna on your vehicle,, when you are using the device it will disable your trucks FM antenna so that you will not get the interference...its an FM modulator

See my Projects for the installation of one on a 2004 6CD changer using the CANBUS communications protocol.

Mine works with 6CD changers that have a satellite radio input.

If you need a little assistance in choosing the right converter, drop me a message and I will go through the options. -- However, it appears you have the right one. The easiest thing to go is to pull the radio and make sure it is in the 815 series.

I used this one from USA spec. It is dual input. It connects to the factory radio as would a factory CD changer.

On using the FM modulated units in cars, I have found that removing the external arial cuts down on interference from adjacent Fm signals.
