Door Lock Switch lights

I am changing out my green lights for blue lights in my door lock and window switches and I noticed something that i hadnt before. The lights on the lock switches stay on even when I turn off the car and take the keys out, the window switch lights are going off at the appropriate time. I took apart the passenger door also to check the lock switch that i hadnt messed with, and it stayed on too. Is this right or did i do something to cause this.
