driver door lock switch, '04 Trac

Can the door lock switch on the drivers door, be repaired or replaced without pulling the whole door panel?

My '04 will lock but not unlock the doors from the door switch.

I know on the 2001 and some 2002 you can simply pull it out, I think on the 03 and up you have to remove the whole panel..

I misread your post, thought you were referring to the door latch mechanism...

My bad...



Though you may be able to somewhat get to the latch assembly from the outside, over all, it is much better to remove the panel and really get in there.



Get some penetrate type fluid and spay like hell. Work every lever and latch via the door handle, lock and FOB... Once it starts working, get a spray White Lithium lube and spray like hell again. This will keep it operating...

CJ, the lock works with the fob and key and keyless entry. It wont unlock the doors from the drivers switch inside. I was hoping to pop the switch without pulling the door panel.

Pulling the door panel is not much work. Do yourself a favor and take Nike's Motto. "Just do it!"
