Ok, one more try before going to Ford! I don't have a VOM so I can't test the switches.

Has anyone encountered this problem? When I press down on the driver's side door window switch I hear what sounds like a doorbell buzzer comming from the under dash relay. When I remove the relay there's nothing. I replaced the motor and the relay to no avail. The window will go up and down without the motor in place so it can't be the regulator. All wires seem to be intact. What am I missing? How do I remove the toggle switch covers to get to the top of the switch computer board to look at the contacts. Any help is deeply appreciated. :btddhorse:

No, but wouldn't the power be coming from either a fuse or a relay and if they are both working fine then where else would I look for a power issue?

Obviously the power is supplied from a fuse and also does run through a relay but the drivers window also goes through the GEM (generic electronic module). What relay is buzzing on you? I don't see any window relays that are under the dash

It is not covered in the manual for some reason(2001) but if you look under the dash behind the radio there is a smal black box. Inside there are 4 relays and a module of some kind, perhaps the GEM you speak of. I remove the top right one and there is no buzzing or anything. I went to Advance Auto and the guy was nice enough to let me try a new one out of the box. I plugged it in and the buzzard was back. It may be the GEM but I certainly hope not as I saw on another post that it cost some guy $300. bucks. I will remove the door panel again and continue to check all options including getting a VOM and checking for continuity.

It sound like you are looking at the GEM but I can't figure out what the relays are that you are talking about. Probably to late to take a picture huh...

I will try to tackle the door and possibly the GEM this weekend. I will post pictures if I can but there is not much room under that dash. I will post after the job is done or I have given up.

Thank God it's happening to someone else, what I mean is also. I am having the same problem. It rolls down but not up. When I try to go up, I get the same buzzing from under the dash. I attached the motor receiver to an external power source (rv battery) and it worked just fine. I'm hoping you figured it out. Let me know please. Thank you.
