Drivers door handle not working

When I pull the door handle (either outside or inside) the door will not open unless i grab the frame of the door and yank real hard. There is a lot of play in the outer handle and I see two springs broken after I took the interior panel off to check. Do you guys have any suggestions???

Check the linkage connecting the handles to the latch, something may've come unsnapped and is causing excess play in the linkage. Also check to make sure the latch is unlatching fully.



The two broken springs are probably the return springs for one of the handles. I've no idea what the part number would be, but I'm sure a Ford dealer would have the info. Could probably even get them from a junkyard.
