DV connector on a DVD player

How do you know if a DVD player has a DV connector (to plug in a camcorder and make a DVD)? My wife is trying to copy videos from the camcorder to a DVD, the computer is not working for her and the instruction booklet says she can also do it on a DVD recorder, which we are considering on buying.) We thought it would be easy to plug the camcorder into a DVD recorder and record, but are unsure if all recorders have the connection we need. Thanks for the help.

You could use the red/white/and yellow composite wires to make a copy. You could check want type of digital plug you camcorder has and then check the DVD recorder before you buy it.
