I fell into a free used 2"ID. Dynomax Muffler. I figured with the smaller inside dia. would help keep the back pressure for torque. Spliced in where original muffler was left the resonater on. Started the trac up. It was barely louder than the original muffler. Are the catolytic converters that styfling or is it the resonater at the rear of the truck?

Any help would be appreciated.

Resonator is the coffee can behind the muffler. If you want a better tone get rid of it, should sound much better after removal of the res.

The pipe size also helps quiet it down... When I removed my cats the idle did not much louder The WOT did though..
