Hmmmm, maybe, let me see if I can fit it in to my busy schedule. Have to see if any of my old helmets are in the attic. Do you think they'd let me run with my Harley helmet? Kinda don't think so. Come on guys/girls, lets put some effort into this. Make the show!! Bob :driving:

Bob,

Yes a stock street vehicle can use an open faced helmet...... Those are the ones we rented form them there,,

I also have 2 helmets here if Gary wants he can borrow when he goes to save the time , money and hasle of renting,,

Todd Z

todd is correct on all vehicles 14 second plus.

i guess we dont have to worry about breaking 14's :bwahaha:

todd, no excuse, a perfect anniversary night :driving:

thx for the helmet offer, i will take you up on that.

bob, are you going if so, let me know.

:supercool:

WOW, helmet required!

How crappy is that!!! Helments only required on sub 11 second vehicles, and full Nomex on cars 10 seconds and faster. On Motorcycles full leather and full face helmets required.

Racing is too expensive there. 10 bucks here gets you unlimited runs down the track.

Sounds like a crapload of fun though.

Tom

tom,

yea helmets required for EVERY vehicle. i guess it is a liability thing as you have to give your drivers license and they inspect your vehicle no matter what it is before you are allowed to enter. then the signature to release them of any liability..

in this day and age it is a "given". so many more tracks are closing due to this and the complaints of the neighbors that built their homes well after the tracks were there.

when i first got the wifes 350Z, i took it to westhampton raceway (closed in 2004) and the car next to me was like a 10 second older buick that blew its drive shaft half way down and i had to stop as there was metal flying everywhere. so i guess they have to cover themselves.

oh well, but as you mention fun :driving:

I pulled up next to a Eagle Talon AWD Turbo (Built way better than stock ever was). It turned a 11.02 1/4 mile at 123 MPH. No helmet required.

A friend at work went to the drag strip with his Buick. He pulled next to a stock looking Mustang. While in the staging lanes, they said he wanted to get a run on the track to see how well it would run. It looked stock and sounded stock too.

Without a roll cage, helmet, Nomex, any type of safety equipment at all, it took the track at under 9 seconds. Before the track owners/help could take action, the driver was gone.

As I said, it costs too much to race at your track. A full day here for 10 bucks is pretty sweet. Pluse, there are 10 tracks to choose from in a 100 mile radius.

that is great. i guess around here there is to much pressure from the community.

again, as i said, the tracks were there before they built their house.

would you build your house near the runway of an airport???

gettin" back to sleepers, how about the chevy astro vans :driving:

We have issues of developers building houses next to interstates and then complaining about the noise.

If the price was right, I would build my house near an airport, but I would not complain about the noise or lack of property value.

The world is full of dumb people.

How about Turbo Dodge Caravans?
