ECU Damage

I have a 2001 ST 4x4 and the technicians are still working on the ST to find why it doesn't start, they try to erase the key memory and now they said that it could be the ECU (Engine computer) damage. When I try to start the ST on the dash there is the anti theft light blinking too fast without stop. Any idea that could help me. What could be the cost of this ECU? Thanks

the blinking light "usually" means the transponder and the key have lost their connection. 1) Try to re-program the key, if that doesn't work,2) unplug the transponder ring for 30 minutes and then try to program the key again.

Have you added any chiped keys to your key ring for other cars lately.? I have heard that the transponders can get confused, when there are 2 different keys next to each other.
